'Tina Turner' Plans Easter Treat for Kids
By night Kiesha Wright is an entertainer
who specializes in Tina Turner Impersonations. But by day
she runs a family outlet store and foundation, The Kiesha
Wright Children's Foundation.
This Easter, Kiesha's Foundation, gave away 100 Easter Baskets
and 200 Easter Dresses and Suits to local children.
Kiesha is a Tina Turner Celebrity Impersonator, who's work
has taken her to Las Vegas and all over the world. "My
heart is to help others that are less fortunate", says
Wright, this is all made possible through donations and the
work she does for her non-profit Family Outlet & Foundation,
located at 2153 Doolittle Drive, San Leandro, California.

“Little Amanda” Webster hope to help Katrina survivors
and other needy children with new clothes and a basket of
goodies for Easter.
By
night Kiesha Wright is an entertainer who specializes in Tina
Turner impersonations. But by day she runs a family outlet
store and a foundation for needy children right here in San
Leandro. As one of her many special programs for the disadvantaged,
Wright is planning to distribute new Easter clothes to 50
local children, especially those who might be survivors of
Hurricane Katrina. She knows they’re in the community,
and she hopes they’ll contact her.
“I would like to sign them up ahead of time,”
says Wright, who has an agreement with a southern California
company to donate young children’s clothing in sizes
1, 2, 3, 4 and bigger kids’ sizes 8 and 10. Wright hopes
to provide socks and underwear, too.
“We will give out tickets at our store between noon
and 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. We ask that any Katrina
survivors bring some proof of that status,” she says.
To pick up a ticket to participate, please come in person
to the Kiesha Wright Children’s Foundation Family Outlet
at the corner of Doolittle Drive and Marina Boulevard. It’s
a little hard to find, across from a Shell station and set
back behind Marina Mart at the Garden Shopping Center. (For
long-time residents, the store was previously a Rexall Drug.)
The Kiesha Wright Children’s Foundation will distribute
the Easter clothing and hold an Easter egg hunt for the kids
on Saturday, April 15, the day before Easter. It will be held
at the San Leandro Marina Park, Mallard Picnic Area, starting
at 11 a.m. Special guests and a radio broadcast are planned
for the event. Wright says she has almost everything arranged
for the Easter egg hunt, but if anyone wishes to donate candy,
chocolate bunnies or eggs, they will be most welcome.
Kiesha Wright’s Family Outlet is located at 2153 Doolittle
Dr., 686-2320.
